Arm lift cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK increased in popularity to a staggering 15,000 operations last year, from a measly 300 just ten years ago.
The plastic surgery procedure, which tackles the problem of so-called “bingo wings” is still performed in relatively small numbers in the UK compared to the US, but numbers here are on the rise too. The reasons for the burgeoning demand could be twofold – firstly, cosmetic surgery is on the rise generally: more people than ever are opting for liposuction, tummy tuck, face lift and other procedures. Secondly, rising obesity rates mean that more people than ever suffer from weight related conditions such as “bingo wings”, “mummy tummies” and “man-boobs”, all of which consist of excess tissue, and all of which can be combated with plastic surgery.
